We support children, young people and their families when someone close to them dies.

National Cake Day

How much do you like cake? And whats your favourite? Cake has been made in England for hundreds of years. At first it was just like a sweetened bread. It was quite flat and round. Now there are thousands of different recipes. Who makes the best cakes in your family?Cake is so popular that it has its own national day in the United States! This year its on Tuesday 26 November and Phoenix Bereavement thinks we should make a tradition of it in England as well. Surely we deserve our own national cake day? Mary Berry and the Great British Bake Off have brought the idea of baking cakes back into fashion. This has inspired us and we invite Hereford families to celebrate our own National Cake Day. We are asking Herefordshire people to take a cake to work, college or school on 26 November and share it out for a donation. Then send us your photos - we would like to see the most amazing cakes, the most fun place to eat cake, the most slices you can get out of one cake!
